Big West Festival is a curated, multi-artform festival staged biennially. Its program features large-scale and intimate works that range across performing arts, music and visual arts, as well as cross-art form or hybrid works. A proud exponent of contemporary practice, Big West collaborates with artists based in, or working with, the unique landscape and culturally diverse communities of the western suburbs of Melbourne. The next Big West Festival is 22 November – 1 December 2013.
The Marketing Manager reports to the Festival General Manager and is responsible for the marketing of the 2013 Festival. This includes developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing campaign, managing the Festival website and online presence and working with the General Manager and Artistic Director to develop the style, branding and collateral for the festival.
The successful candidate will be experienced in creating and delivering comprehensive marketing campaigns for festivals or other large scale events and will have experience working with culturally diverse and multi-lingual markets. They will be able to work creatively within tight budgets and build relationships with a wide range of partners and contractors.
This position is a fixed term position from mid July until 6 December and ranges from 3 days per week to full time for the Festival period. The exact hours of the part-time component are negotiable.
Salary: $52,000 (pro rata), 4.5 month contract
Hours: 0.6 EFT from mid July, gradually increasing to full time by November
